•NEW SALARY GRID

Please be advised the Tikinagan Board of Directors have approved a 5.6% increase in the salary grids for agency staff. Salary increase changes will be effective November 11, 2023, and will be reflected on the December 1, 2023 pay day.

Salary increases are being implemented to offer employees more sustainable wages to accommodate the rising cost of living.

Employees will continue to receive their annual salary increases on their normal annual increase date. When an employee reaches the top of their grid level, they will receive an annual cost of living payment within the pay period of their annual increase date.

Staff will receive an individual letter that will outline the specific impact on their salary.
We remind staff of their responsibility to respect the confidentiality of the letter they receive regarding placement on the salary grid and any specifics regarding their own salary.

We hope this increase will allow the agency to be competitive in the workforce and to assist with staff recruitment and retention. The agency values our staff, and we would like to acknowledge the commitment of everyone, as we all work together to offer enhanced service delivery.

•PENSION CHANGE NOTICE – MINIMUM CONTRIBUTION – Postponed until pay day Jan 12, 2024

Effective November 11, 2023, please be advised the Tikinagan Board of Directors have approved the mandatory minimum pension employee contribution to increase from 3% to 5% for all employees who join the Pension Plan after one year of employment.

For current employees who elected to contribute either 3% or 4%, this will automatically change to 5%. Payroll will implement any required changes.

As part of the existing Pension Plan, employees can contribute up to 10%. Tikinagan will match contributions up to a maximum of 8%. Employee contributions over 8% will be considered voluntary contributions.

The Pension Plan is to ensure all employees are saving for their retirement in years to come.
