Happy Easter From Tikinagan

On behalf of our organization, I would like to wish our staff, families, Foster Parents, and our Elders a safe and happy Easter holiday, as well as a great start to the Spring!

Spring is an incredible time, and this year, we’ve been surprised by what seems to be signs of an early one almost every week throughout winter. Spring, which technically sprung on March 19, is a time of new beginnings. It gives us energy to create new memories as a family and with friends. And for the land, it’s a time of renewal. Our lakes will unfreeze, trees will get taller, and the geese will start flying north again. Everything works together.

This Easter, we remember that this season is not just about bunnies and chocolates, but it’s also a time to rejoice in the gift of new beginnings and the incredible gift of life. We also celebrate Christ’s resurrection — “The Lord has risen indeed!” (Luke 24:34)

We remain thankful that our communities are working in the true spirit of Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin, “everyone working together to raise our children.” Our agency continues to pray for all our communities and the well-being our children.

Blessings on your holiday weekend,

Thelma Morris
