On December 6, 2021 staff received a memo (see attached) regarding Children and Youth in Care 5 and up are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Instructions were provided in the memo and a procedure laid out for Child Care Workers to assist children and youth in obtaining the COVID-19 vaccination. Once the vaccination was received Child care workers were to submit proof of vaccination or provide reasons why youth have not been vaccinated to Sarah Backa at sarahb@tikinagan.org.
To date there are several outstanding proof of vaccination certificates for children and youth in care. At this time all Child Care Workers will review their caseloads and submit all outstanding vaccination certificates and or reasons why children or youth have not received the vaccine no later than June 15, 2022.
