RE: Staff Model Agency Operated Homes with Residential Services (Revised)
Through our Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model, Tikinagan has been working on further development of Staff Model Agency Operated Homes to support children and youth in our care.
Last week, the Ministry amended Tikinagan’s license to operate three (3) Staff Model Agency Operated Homes, and all have been approved with a maximum 2-bed capacity.
Tikinagan currently will have a total of nine (9) Staff Model Agency Operated Homes at the following sites:
- Beaver Lodge, 270 Sturgeon River Road, Sioux Lookout
- Cedar Lane,12 Sturgeon Meadows Road, Sioux Lookout
- Loons Nest, Lac Seul First Nation
- Wolfs Den, Lac Seul First Nation
- Caribou House, 75 Lassie Road, Red Lake
- Moose Lodge, 111 Airport Road, Dryden
- Squirrels Nest, 597 Airport Road, Unit A, Dryden (New)
- Turtle House, 3 Kostynuk Drive, Red Lake (New)
- Lake House, 2729 Highway 625, Emo (New)
Please submit your Alternative Placement Request Form to the Placement Desk indicating you are looking for a placement within the Staff Model Agency Operated Home and the Placement Desk will forward your Intake package.
Once completed please submit to Placement Desk at email: tikinaganplacmentdesk@tikingan.org
Incomplete packages will be returned to the worker.
A Mamow Keenikahn-Apowin conference will be held with the Residential Placement Review Committee to identify best placement for child or youth with referring worker.
You may find the Staff Model Agency Operated Home Policy Manual in the shared drive under Policies or the Staff Portal to better under program expectations.
