This memo is to notify staff regarding our new process of streamlining contacts to Niigaanshkaawin on matters pertaining to First Nation Representative Programs (Band Rep) & child welfare law development (Bill C92).

The purpose of our Niigaanshkaawin Project is to:

  1. Support and assist with First Nation Representative development.
  2. Support and assist with First Nation child welfare law development.
  3. Reimagine the role of Tikinagan in supporting these initiatives.

We understand there are more requests coming into our agency with matters regarding First Nation Representative services and requests for child welfare law development information (Bill C92). To better our services and communication, we would like to streamline the process for these inquiries and requests. Notifications will be provided to the respective Service Manager, Director of Services and Niigaanshkaawin Managers. This applies to all information regarding First Nation Representative inquiries and First Nation child welfare law development.
