Niigaanshkaawin Releases the First Kikinoniwewi Masinahikan (Guidebook) to support First Nation Representative Services
The focus of our first Guidebook is the First Nation Representative (Band Rep) Program.
The 250-page resource captures the collective insights, concerns, and priorities identified through ongoing engagement with First Nation Representatives, Law Coordinators, Band Managers, and Chiefs and Councils. We prepared this Guidebook to assist our First Nation with their Band Rep program.
The findings, tools, and resources in this Guidebook emphasize both the urgent needs and the inspiring strengths within our communities. They also reflect a shared commitment to long-term transformation through culturally rooted, community-driven solutions.
Future Guidebooks include: Post-Majority Services, Prevention Services, and Law-Making.
You can find our guidebook Kikinoniwewi Masinahikan on our website at Niigaanshkaawin.org. Save our page to keep in touch as we continue to release more resourses for our communities.
Niigaanshkaawin is an initiative that aims to support each of Tikinagan Child and Family Services’ 30 First Nation communities as they decide and implement the right path for their Child Welfare systems.
