Niigaanshkaawin Information Session Recap

On Monday, July 6, 2026, our Niigaanshkaawin team held an online information session for members of Tikinagan’s 29 First Nations, including Chief & Council, First Nation (Band) Representatives, technicians, Elders, Youth, community members, and Tikinagan staff.

This online information session, along with upcoming future sessions, supports the ongoing planning and preparation toward the implementation of the Ontario Final Agreement (OFA) and the long-term reform of the First Nation Child and Family Services Program. In this session, Niigaanshkaawin shared our ᑫᔭᓂᔑᑐᒋᑲᑌᐠ | Keyaniishidoojikaadeg (Approach) to the OFA and discussed topics including:

  • Child and Community Wellbeing Plan (CCWP) and Multi-Year Plan (MYP)
  • Environmental Scan & Priorities
  • Collaboration with First Nations
