Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, our staff have been working hard to deliver vital support to children, youth, and families to our 30 First Nations. They have adapted services, using both virtual tools and in-person visits, to continue their critical work while keeping infection rates low and people safe.
Tikinagan staff are providing essential services in our communities and we want to show our appreciation for their tireless efforts and unwavering dedication to the work.

The COVID-19 pandemic may have grounded Butch Magashazi of Tikinagan Child and Family Services, but it hasn’t stopped him or his team from continuing to serve the remote community of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug (Big Lake Trout First Nation)—a fly-in community of about a thousand residents located 580 kilometres north of Thunder Bay.
