At Tikinagan Child & Family Services, our primary responsibility is the wellbeing of children and their families. This is always at the forefront of our minds and guides the work that we do while working together with our First Nations communities.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that has taken the world by storm, our methods of service delivery have had to change and we have taken unique measures to still be able to provide services – including office closures and creating a foster parent hotline. But we always remain available to serve children, families, and the First Nation communities we serve – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Protecting children and supporting families at a time like this takes a community effort – locally, provincial, nationally, and even globally. I want to thank our staff, our foster parents, and communities for working in the true spirit of Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoonwin, “everyone working together to raise our children.” By coming together, in spirit and not in-person, we are making a difference.
While our offices remain closed, essential staff and services remain available to continue to support our children and families. This includes the continuation of payments. For the time being, all non-essential travel, including family visits, are postponed until further notice. Read our response to COVID-19 here. We encourage you to make use of the technology available to stay in contact.
Once again, we urge everyone to keep healthy by practising the recommendations outlined by health officials. For the most recent updates, we suggest visiting our COVID-19 resource page on our website, or the following pages:

We are thinking of you, your families, and your communities. Let’s keep working together, take care of our Elders, stay informed, and support our communities.
