National Indigenous History Month 2026

June is National Indigenous History Month and on June 21 we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day!

To celebrate this year, we have been sharing the pictured artwork by Darwin Peters on our Indigenous History Month and Indigenous Peoples Day content. Darwin Peters is a painter based in Pikangikum First Nation. His paintings combine traditional Woodlands art techniques with his own personal experiences and stories. Darwin previously made the artwork for our 2024-2025 Annual Report and Annual Chiefs Assembly, see it here.

This season is a time to come together to celebrate our people, culture, and communities. See what events are happening in our First Nation and urban communities below!
