MEMO: Pandemic Measures Adjustment

Effective immediately, for Tikinagan staff who test positive or are close contacts to a positive, we are reducing the restriction for access to Tikinagan offices or having in-person contact with staff or clients to FIVE (5) days after date of testing positive or close contact with a positive as long as they are symptom free, with the following exceptions:

– Staff doing shifts in an Agency Operated Home – please see below for guidelines

– Staff working in a community/First Nation that has isolation requirement in excess of 5 days in place

– Staff who have been advised by medical professional to isolate for longer than 5 days.

– Must be symptom free for 24 hours unless symptoms are digestive (e.g. diarrhea, vomiting) then symptom free for 48 hours.

To calculate 5 day time period, start by counting the day after testing or close contact as day 1. So earliest lifting of the restriction if symptom free would be on day 6.

WORKING IN AN AOH:

If tested positive or close contact to a positive, staff working in an AOH must not work in an AOH until 10 days after date of testing or close contact. So return to working in an AOH if symptom free would be Day 11. Staff working in an AOH must also be symptom free for at least 24 hours unless symptoms are digestive then symptom-free for 48 hours required. Please also consult the AOH Staff Shortage Contingency Plan for other options.

Some communities may require longer isolation periods and Tikinagan staff must follow all pandemic measures and guidelines in force in your community. We recognize the complexity of above guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact your Supervisor/Service Manager.

Please note that except for above all other enhanced measures remain in place until the end of March.

Thank you for your co-operation in keeping our staff, our clients and our communities safe.
