DATE: January 8, 2025

In the spirit of the Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model, Tikinagan is excited to announce the re-opening of the Oshka-Teesuk Neeghan Healing Centre on Monday, January 13, 2025.

Oshka-Teesuk Neeghan Healing Centre is in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (formerly known as Big Trout Lake). It is a nine-resident bed for children and youth ages 12 to 16 years. Ouryouth are provided with a private bedroom of their own and adequate space to store personal items.

Our youth will attend the Aglace Chapman Education Centre on a full-time basis. Oshka-Teesuk Neeghan Healing Centre provides a consistent, structured home-like environment to promote healthy living. It is a culturally appropriate environment where children and youth will learn to become healthy adults and make informed decisions. We offer land-based programming to engage children and youth to reconnect with their roots, learn and share traditional skills and knowledge, and support their healing journey.
