Mamow Oshki Pimagihowin means "Working Together to Provide New Life Skills." This represents Tikinagan's framework for community-based prevention and support services. Mamow Oshki Pimagihowin aims to co-ordinate existing services and build new programs to meet community specific needs. Its goal is to strengthen and support families, children and youth, and communities. Programs promote cultural awareness and enhance cultural identity, language, customs, and beliefs. Tikinagan piloted this framework in eight First Nations in 2006-07 and plans to expand the program to all communities.

Mamow Oshki Pimagihowin is designed in collaboration with Chiefs, Councils and community resources. Programs are rooted in traditional teachings and Elders assume a prominent role. Mamow Oshki Pimagihowin is an integral part of Tikinagan's Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin model with its focus on positive support and restoration of our cultural heritage. The framework encompasses prevention and support services along a continuum which includes four stages: community prevention and education; early intervention and support; crisis support and service coordination; and healing and restoration. At each stage, programs are included which build strengths, skills and resilience.

Examples of programs in the Mamow Oshki Pimagihowin framework are community celebrations; recreational opportunities including land-based activities; educational and learning opportunities that instil traditional values, cultural identity and pride; and targeted support at all levels (physical, spiritual and emotional) for families, children and youth.
